Sunlit Rain

This piece explores the tension between light and rain. Two conditions that rarely share the same space, yet sometimes arrive together. The flowing lines move like weather across a landscape, while shifting tones in the wood reflect light breaking through.

The natural grain plays a central role in the composition. As you move around the piece, the surface changes, catching and releasing light in subtle ways. What appears still at first begins to feel active, as if something is passing through rather than remaining fixed.

There is no single horizon to hold onto. The layered forms suggest terrain, atmosphere, and movement, but resist settling into one place. The piece remains open, shaped as much by perception as by material.

Functional by design, but not limited to it, this work exists between use and observation - - holding a moment where contrast becomes balance.
